Curriculum

The PROFITT curriculum has 5 major components: literary braille, basic computer skills, transferable computerized graphics skills including tactile graphics, small business management, and soft/life skills. It has been designed to contain 750 hours of hands-on classroom training. For the TDCJ Pilot Project, the curriculum will be taught in 30 weeks with 5 days of classroom study per week at 5 hours per day. The curriculum may be modified to fit the needs of individual correctional settings, and PROFITT staff can provide guidance, insight and feedback regarding set-up.
